Dreams about teeth
Last night, Shelby came to my bed around 2am. Finally settled down & went to sleep. Then, woke at 3am, agitated, telling me I had to turn on the light, because he had a loose tooth & pulled it out & it was lost on the bed. I looked in his mouth & there weren’t any more teeth out than there had been before (he’s got 3 missing now) & tried to convince him it was just a dream. Ended up putting the light on & looking for it before he finally remembered that he already had 3 teeth out yesterday before he went to sleep.
As I was falling asleep, I remembered that, in dream analysis classes, we had learned that dreaming that teeth were coming out of your mouth was, usually, symbolic of the kind of things that you say (the ‘things that come out of your mouth’).
But, in the case of 4 to 7 year olds, I think that dreaming that teeth are coming out of your mouth is symbolic of teeth falling out
