Is he sweet or what?

Last night, Shelby had a permission slip in his backpack, for a field trip that’s coming up. His first ever field trip in real school (he had one or two that summer he was in preschool, but no permission slip that I remember).

I signed it, checked the box to be chaperone & put the money in an envelope. He was in the tub & I went to show him the envelope & tell him that I was going to put it in his backpack. (Whenever I’m putting something in there that he needs to give to the teacher, I make a point of telling him, so that he’ll know what to do with it when he sees it in the morning)

He said, “Thanks for letting me go!”.

How sweet. I wonder if the teacher explained ‘permission slips’ to them that day & told them to say “Thank you” if their parents signed it…

Then, I told him that I signed up to go with & asked if that was OK with him. He smiled big and said, “Yes, I like when you come”.

This is fun!

CTM is founded by The Q, and she currently acts as President of the Board of Directors, as well as Executive Director of operations. There are 7 other board members besides Q.

We are raising money at this point to hire an advocate to work in association with the local womens’ shelter, who can handle cases of domestic abuse and abandonment specifically for Muslim/Immigrant women who may have cultural, language, and educational barriers.

Domestic violence is a social disease that transcends race, religion, and financial status. Every woman should be able to live in her own home, free from fear of violence and aggression.

Man gets $218 trillion phone bill

Posted Tuesday , April 11, 2006 at 19:14 Email Print
Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia): Phone bills usually don’t ring in good news but for a Malaysian man it brought more than bad news.

Yahaya Wahab nearly fainted when he received a $218 trillion phone bill and was ordered to pay up within 10 days or face prosecution.

Wahab said he disconnected his late father’s phone line in January after he died and settled the $23 bill, the New Straits Times reported. But, Telekom Malaysia later sent him a $218 trillion bill.

It wasn’t clear whether the bill was a mistake, or if the phone line was used illegally after the death of Wahab’s father.

Wahab is ready to seek legal action against Telekom Malaysia Berhad, which is the country’s largest telecommunications company.

Meanwhile, Telekom Malaysia has said that they are aware of Wahab’s case and would address it.
