Just sitting here browsing the news & it’s just so sad. So many people who don’t know how to love themselves, how to be happy, how they are an important part of the interdependent web of everything - people who never learned how they impact others & never learned to care about how they impact others, either - never learned their responsibility towards the rest of the world - never learned empathy - never learned that they are infinitely important in tiny and huge ways.
How did that happen?
How did this woman and man get to the point in their lives where they could think it was OK to take another life? How did they get to the point where their (?) baby was taken away due to neglect? How is anyone able to neglect their own baby? What lesson did they miss in their earlier life? What love was missing for them?
How did this teenager never learn self-respect and responsibility? How is anyone that unaware of how their actions might affect others? How does someone reach the age of 16, have a driver’s license and not know how to think things through - big things like this - obvious things? What should have been done differently for her? How could this have even been an option in her mind?
How do people get to that point - the point where they are irresponsible enough to not only negatively affect others, but to actually kill them? What’s going on in their minds? How sad that they didn’t get whatever the rest of us got in our childhood’s to not only teach us right from wrong but to make us want to choose right when we can.
And, how horrible, horrible, horrible it must be for the people who loved the completely random victims of their self-centered, thoughtless acts. May they find peace.
And, may no more children be raised without learning to live well and responsibly.
