I love the passing of time

Allison auditioned last week for the high school’s chamber choir.

She found out today that she got in.

Hooray! It will be a fun, busy year next year - hopefully full of getting closer to new friends

She was afraid that she might not get in solely based on her hair, which we are now in the process of bleaching to white (just the front inch or so), so that we can color it blue & purple :p

Last week, she was saying that, if she does get in, but gets kicked out for her hair, she will just accept that & leave. Today, after she found out that she made it, she said that she feels so good, right now, that she would probably happily go back to brown in order to stay in the choir.

I told her not to worry about it for now, anyway. Who knows, by the end of summer she might be ready for another change, anyway.

Annie & I got our ears pierced a week ago Sunday. We each picked birthstone studs. She couldn’t decide if she was going first or if I was. And, the lady was *really* busy at the Claires Store where we had it done. Finally, we were ready to go & Annie decided, at the last minute, to go first.

Yep, you guessed it… The lady pierced her right ear with *my* birthstone. And, it hurt more than Annie had expected. So, we went ahead & left her with my stone in her right ear. She steeled herself & was pierced with her stone in her left ear.

And, I got the ‘matching’ set in my ears I kind of like it like this…

Allison got a 33 on her ACT test. 99th percentile. She is awesome.

Shelby can’t wait for school to let out. I feel kind of sad that this set of 2nd grade teachers brought him to the point where he feels that way about school, now. Oh, well - maybe next year will get him excited again.

Yesterday was Memorial Day. The kids were off school.

In the afternoon, Annie said, “Since we were supposed to be at school today, but we weren’t, I was thinking that we could do school at home, instead and maybe you could make us some math sheets to work on later”
